Statement
My practice explores the concept of Sologamy, the act of dating or marrying oneself through cinematic, emotionally charged oil paintings. I create romanticized scenes that track my journey to self-love, using double self-portraits to study solitude, self-analysis, and the emotional echoes left by past lovers, represented through a recurring figure I call the Lust Antagonist. This dramatized character, drawn from personal history, appears as both muse and mirror, forcing confrontation and reflection.
My palette leans heavily into high-key reds, pinks, and greens, selected for their
psychological weight and mood-shifting power. These colors create tension or harmony depending on the emotional tone of the scene, drawing viewers into a heightened, almost surreal world.
